Filiault joined Coach Richter’s staff in the summer of 2021 as a 2021 graduate of Kean University earning a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and Health Teacher Certification (P-12) with a minor in athletic coaching.
Filiault was a four-year member of the Kean University women’s basketball team where she was named to the NJAC All-Academic Team her sophomore, junior, and senior season and was a member of Chi Alpha Sigma and Lambda Alpha Sigma honor society. In her four years at Kean University, her class compiled an overall record of 43-45. In her sophomore season, her team made it to the NJAC championship as the 6th seed, falling short in overtime to Rutgers-Newark after upsetting #3 Montclair State University, winners of six straight NJAC championships, and #2 seeded Rowan University. In her sophomore season, the Cougars made the title game for the first time since the 2009-2010 season.
She was awarded a scholarship to attend Head Coach Training Center in May of 2021 which is an annual event that focuses exclusively on off-the-court professional development strategies and networking opportunities for coaches looking to obtain a highly coveted first time or new Head Coach position, as well as how to be successful in that role.
In 2019, Filiault became a volunteer for Big Brother Big Sister of Monmouth County NJ. Big Brother Big Sister is the nation’s largest donor- and volunteer-supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 5 through young adulthood in communities across the country. This organization develops positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people. Filiault also volunteers at her high school alma mater in Monroe Township NJ for coaching and skill development camps for basketball. Since 2017, Filiault has been giving basketball lessons to basketball players in Middlesex and Monmouth County. During the summer of 2020, Filiault was training 20+ local athletes on driveways due to the global pandemic.
She will be pursing her Master of Education in Higher Education with a track in Student Affairs Administration.
