Coaching at DeSales
Coach Ridout has guided the Bulldogs to the MAC Freedom postseason in each of his first four years at DeSales. DSU won the MAC Freedom Championship in 2015 earning its first and only NCAA Tournament appearance that season and finished as the MAC Freedom runners-up in 2016.
 
DeSales set a school-record for wins (14) in 2015 and DSU has had a .500 or better season in three of Ridout’s first four years.
 
Under Ridout, DeSales has seen 18 players earn All-MAC Freedom honors including one Offensive Player of the Year and one Rookie of the Year, four earn NSCAA All-Region honors, and one earn Academic All-American honors.
 
Prominent DeSales Graduates under Ridout
  • Jess Wetherhold ’16 – Played two seasons under Ridout earning All-MAC Freedom First-Team honors three times and Honorable-Mention honors once in her career.  She was also named NSCAA All-Region Third-Team twice.  Wetherhold finished her career with 18 goals and 28 assists for 64 career points.
  • Esther Younger ’16 – Central defender who also played two seasons under Ridout earning All-MAC Freedom honors three times including First-Team twice and Academic All-MAC honors twice.
  • Angelica Bertola ‘17 – Played three seasons under Ridout earning All-MAC Freedom First-Team honors twice and Second-Team once.  Named MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Year in 2017 and earned CoSIDA Academic All-American Third-Team and NSCAA All-Region Second-Team honors as a senior. Finished her career with 55 goals and 20 assists for 130 career points.
Playing Career
Ridout was a four-year letter-winner at RMC leading the Yellow Jackets in goals scored and total points in three of his four years.  Randolph-Macon was ranked as high as #11 in the NSCAA national top 25 poll.  He finished his career with 17 goals and 13 assists for 47 career points.

  • Holds NSCAA National, Advanced National, and Premier diplomas.
Personal
Ridout is originally from Chester, VA attending Thomas Dale High School.  He married wife, Trina, in 2017, and they welcomed their first child, son Miles, in April of 2019.
