Van Alstine joins the Women’s CC and T&F coaching staff as the graduate assistant coach at the start of the 2020-21 season. She is a 2011 graduate of the University of Richmond having earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice.
While at Richmond she earned All-American honors and is the current school record holder in the Outdoor 5000m and 1500m, as well as the Atlantic 10 Conference Outdoor Championship record holder in the 1500m. After graduating from Richmond, she moved to Flagstaff, Ariz. to pursue her dream of running professionally. During her time as a professional, she was the 2014 USA Cross Country Champion and 2015 USATF National Club Cross Country Champion. Her specialty event on the track was the 5000m with a personal best of 15:22.
Van Alstine is pursuing her Master's in Education from DeSales.
