DeSales University Athletics

Olivia Lathrop joins Coach Zabinski’s coaching staff for her second season as the graduate assistant coach.  Lathrop graduated summa cum laude from Western New England University in the spring of 2016 with a degree in sport management and a minor in athletic coaching.
 
Lathrop spent two years at Southern Connecticut State University before transferring to WNE as a junior in the fall of 2014.  She was a two-year starter at SCSU before excelling at WNE leading the team in kills and hitting percentage as both a junior and senior.  She posted top 10 marks in both kills and hitting percentage in a season and finished her career at WNE hitting .293, which ranks third all-time.  Lathrop earned All-CCC First-Team honors twice and was named All-New England Honorable-Mention as a senior.
 
Lathrop participated on two select teams that played abroad including AIST who traveled to Italy in the summer of 2014 and played against local clubs in different cities and a Division III select team which played local clubs in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.
 
In 2015-16 she was a member of the professional team, the New England Midnight Riders, a team that plays in the Premier Volleyball League and competed against other professional teams across the country in the national tournament in May.
 
Lathrop will be pursuing her MBA while at DeSales.
