Reading, PA (October 11, 2008) – Senior Dana Eustace (Highland Lakes, NJ/Vernon Township) and junior Emily LaDuke (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) each scored two goals leading the DeSales University women's soccer team past Alvernia University, 4-3, in a Freedom Conference game on Saturday afternoon.

The Bulldogs stay unbeaten in Freedom Conference play as they improve to 5-5-1 overall and 2-0 in the Freedom. Alvernia falls to 6-7 overall and 1-2 in the Freedom.

DSU controlled most of the day but the Crusaders took advantage of the few chances they had as the Bulldogs enjoyed a 29-7 edge in shots. After LaDuke gave DeSales a 1-0 lead with a penalty kick at the 6:10 mark, AU scored two straight goals in a span of 1:07 to take a 2-1 lead.

Eustace answered the spurt with the tying goal at the 23:52 mark off an assist from sophomore Jill Yetter (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley) and the game remained tied at halftime.

In the second half, Eustace scored her second goal of the day off another assist from Yetter at the 62:07 mark and LaDuke tallied her second at 75:47 off a feed from sophomore Amanda Ziegler (Aston, PA/Cardinal O'Hara). LaDuke's insurance goal was one the Bulldogs needed as the Crusaders got within one marker with 11 minutes left but were unable to re-tie the game.

Junior Katie Halpin (Bethlehem, PA/Notre Dame) and freshman Melissa Millili (Deptford, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) split time in goal with Halpin making the lone save.

DSU returns to action on Tuesday, October 14th when they travel to Wilkes University for a Freedom Conference game beginning at 4:00 pm.
