Women’s Soccer Drops Second Straight, 3-1 at Delaware Valley

Doylestown, PA (October 26, 2008) – The DeSales University women's soccer team dropped its second straight Freedom Conference decision falling at Delaware Valley College, 3-1, on Sunday afternoon.

The loss drops the Bulldogs to 7-7-1 overall and 4-2 in the Freedom and into third place in the Freedom Conference standings entering the final week of play, while the Aggies improve to 11-3-1 overall and 5-2 in the Freedom and in second place in the conference standings. DVC had an 18-6 edge in total shots and a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.

The Aggies struck first just 3:09 into the game as Elise Carpenter scored her fifth goal of the year off a feed from Dana GentileElise Dauber followed Carpenter's score with her 15th marker of the year off the feed from Emily Perryman at the 25:16 giving DVC a 2-0 lead that stood into the half.

Delaware Valley added its third goal of the game as Dauber and Perryman hooked up again at the 79:41 mark before senior Dana Eustace (Highland Lakes, NJ/Vernon Township) got DSU on the board with an unassisted tally at the 83:51 mark.

DSU returns to action on Wednesday, October 29th when they host Eastern University in a Freedom Conference game beginning at 3:00 pm.
