Bulldogs Fall at Eastern, 6-1

Junior Catherine McGrillen scored the lone goal vs. Eastern on Thursday.

St. David's, PA (October 2, 2008) – The DeSales University field hockey team dropped its second straight Freedom Conference game falling to Eastern University, 6-1, on the road on Thursday afternoon.

The Bulldogs (4-7, 0-2 Freedom) fell behind early allowing five goals on six shots in the opening half and were never able to recover. Junior Catherine McGrillen (Ballymena, Northern Ireland) did put DSU on the scoreboard late in the second half when she scored unassisted for her third goal of the season and freshman Jeb Bessinger (Langhorne, PA/Archbishop Wood) returned from injury to make two saves in goal for the Bulldogs.

DSU returns to action on Tuesday, October 7^th when they host Arcadia University in a non-conference game beginning at 4:00 pm.
