Strong Fourth Quarter lifts Stockton past DeSales, 9-3

Pomona, NJ (March 29, 2008) – A five-goal fourth quarter by Richard Stockton College helped the Ospreys pull away from the DeSales University men's lacrosse team to earn a 9-3 win in a non-conference game on Saturday afternoon.
 
        A defensive battle thru the first three quarters saw DSU (4-4 overall) trailing 4-2 entering the final period but the Bulldogs scored at the 12:44 mark of the fourth to cut the deficit down to one goal (4-3). The Ospreys (4-4 overall) answered with a goal just 30 seconds later starting a string of five unanswered goals to finish the game and lift the hosts to the win.
 
        Senior Dan Thomer (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Ryan), junior Andrew Ervin (Langhorne, PA/Neshaminy) and senior James Ramsey (Philadelphia, PA/Father Judge) each scored goals in the loss, while junior Matthew Brancaccio (Greenvale, NY/North Shore) added two assists.
 
        Ramsey added a team-high six ground balls, senior Sam Gobeli (Baltimore, MD/Archbishop Curley) went 8-for-15 on face-offs and sophomore Jarryd Stamatelos (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) made nine saves in the loss.

          The Bulldogs return to action on Tuesday, April 1st at they begin MAC Conference play when they host Widener University beginning at 3:30 pm.
