DeSales Men Drop another Tough Conference Match

Sophomore Charles Marriner III was the lone Bulldog to take a set in the loss at Wilkes on Wednesday afternoon.

Wilkes-Barre, PA (April 2, 2008) - The DeSales University men's tennis team suffered a difficult loss falling 9-0 to Wilkes University on a cold and windy Wednesday afternoon in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
 
        The Colonels took control early in the match by winning each of the three doubles points and then stifled the Bulldogs attack in singles action. The loss drops DeSales to 1-5 overall and 0-3 in the Freedom Conference.
 
        The lone bright spot for DeSales was sophomore Charles Marriner (Cape May Court House, NJ/Middle Township) who continued his strong play despite losing l to Tom Miller at the 6th singles spot by a score of 6-7(4), 6-0, 0-1(6). Marriner was the lone Bulldog to capture a set on the day, as Wilkes University controlled every other match.

         The Bulldogs return to the court on Saturday, April 5th when they host King's College in a Freedom Conference match starting at 1:00 pm.
