Geneva, NY (September 14, 2008) – The DeSales University women's soccer team fell to 19th ranked William Smith College, 2-0, in the second game of the Heron Cup held at William Smith College on Saturday and Sunday afternoon.

The Bulldogs (3-2-1 overall) were out-shot 29-4 but hung tough defensively all game as WSC (4-1 overall) was unable to get on the scoreboard themselves until the 51:44 mark of the second half. William Smith got an insurance goal at the 82:04 mark by Brelynn Nasypany and DSU was unable to find the back of the net on the afternoon.

Junior Katie Halpin (Bethlehem, PA/Notre Dame) was terrific in goal, making 12 saves, including nine in the second half.

DeSales returns to action on Saturday, September 20th when they host Haverford College in a non-conference game beginning at 1:00 pm.
