Center Valley, PA (September 27, 2008) – Senior Jessica Baker (Churchville, PA/St. Basil Academy) scored two goals leading the DeSales University women's soccer team past Freedom Conference foe, FDU-Florham, 5-1, in the conference opener for both teams on a drizzly afternoon.

Baker led an early first-half charge that left the Devils scratching their heads as they quickly fell behind 3-0. Baker made it 1-0 on a crossing pass from senior Nicole Pietrobon (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) just 4:01 into the game and junior Emily LaDuke (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) pushed the lead to 2-0 eight minutes later when she scored her third marker of the season on a long pass from senior Dana Eustace (Highland Lakes, NJ/Vernon Township).

The lead swelled to three when freshman Amanda Fink (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) finished the first-half scoring with her fourth goal of the year on the rebound of a shot taken by fellow freshman Haley Vollmer (Hamburg, PA/Hamburg). The Devils cut into the lead just 4:24 before the half when Lora Fink scored on a feed from Lauren Kelly as the scoreboard read, 3-1, entering the half.

In the second half, Eustace netted her sixth tally of the year at the 72;29 mark on a pass from sophomore Amanda Ziegler (Aston, PA/Cardinal O'Hara) to regain the three-goal lead and Baker finalized the scoring with her second goal, this time off a pass from senior Katie Dishman (Nazareth, PA/Pen Argyl) at the 77:41 mark.

Freshman Melissa Millili (Deptford, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) made four saves to record the win in her first collegiate start in between the pipes. DeSales held a 16-8 edge in shots and a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks.

DSU won't return to action until Tuesday, October 7th when they host Drew University in a non-conference game beginning at 4:00 pm.
