Volleyball Makes it Five Wins in a Row; Fehnel totals 14 Kills

Junior Kylie Fehnel totaled 14 kills on just 19 attempts in the win over Goucher College on Thursday night.

Baltimore, MD (October 1, 2009) – Junior Kylie Fehnel (Nazareth, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) totaled 14 kills on just 19 attempts leading the DeSales University volleyball team to a 3-0 (25-20, 25-14, 25-21) win over Goucher College in the rubber match between the two teams this season on Thursday evening.

The Bulldogs win for the fifth straight time and improve to 10-6 on the year. Fehnel finished with a .737 hitting percentage and added 18 digs and two blocks.

Senior Jen Mellon (Media, PA/Penncrest) had seven kills and a block and freshman Paige Horrigan (Mohnton, PA/Governor Mifflin) totaled four kills and three blocks. Freshman Justine McNulty (Collegeville, PA/Methacton) had 28 assists and two blocks, senior Kerri Andrews (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) added 22 digs, and freshman Eden Reichard (Mertztown, PA/Brandywine) continued to play well with 14 digs.

DeSales will look to make it six in a row on Saturday, when they host Arcadia University in a non-conference match beginning at 1:00 pm.
