Dallas, PA (October 24, 2009) – The DeSales University women's soccer team dropped its third straight Freedom Conference game, falling at Misericordia University, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon on another dreary day for a soccer game.

The Bulldogs are now 6-9-1 overall and 2-3-1 in the Freedom Conference, while the Cougars improve to 7-10 overall and 4-2 in the conference standings. DSU has one game left on its regular season schedule on Saturday, October 31st (Halloween), when they host Wilkes University beginning at Noon.

A scoreless game late in the first half saw MU score first when Kim Suchoski scored off a corner on assists by both Sam Helmstetter and Lauren Payne at the 38:38 mark. That lead into halftime as the Cougars enjoyed a 10-1 advantage in shots and a 6-2 edge in corner kicks over the first 45 minutes.

In the second half, Miseri tallied its insurance goal, a goal they would need, at the 58:29 mark as Kristen Gedon scored unassisted on a blast from about 15 yards out. DSU countered just 3:25 later when sophomore Amanda Fink (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) scored her team-leading sixth goal on a penalty kick.

That goal however ended the scoring as the Bulldogs were unable to come up with a tying marker. Sophomore Melissa Millili (Deptford, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) made three saves in the loss.
