BOX SCORE

Chester, PA (April 14, 2009) – The DeSales University men's lacrosse team fell behind 10-1 after three quarters and eventually fell for the fourth straight time, losing at Widener University, 12-4, in an MAC Conference game under the lights on a drizzly Tuesday evening.

The Bulldogs (3-9, 2-5 MAC) once again won the face-off battle, as they have all season long, but it did not show on the scoreboard as the Pride (6-7, 5-2 MAC) dominated the offensive end of the field jumping out to a 7-0 lead and never looked back from there.

Senior Matthew Brancaccio (Greenvale, NY/North Shore) continued his quest to become DSU's all-time leading scorer with one goal and one assist, while junior Kevin Walker (Wilmington, DE/Salesianum), freshman Michael Bassani (Califon, NY/Voorhees), and senior Andrew Ervin (Langhorne, PA/Neshaminy) also scored in the loss.

Walker won 8-of-16 face-offs and picked up four ground balls and sophomore Donald Clemens III (Baldwin, NY/Baldwin) added a team-high seven ground balls. Junior Jarryd Stamatelos (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) made seven saves.

The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday, April 18th when they host Misericordia University in another MAC Conference game at 1:00 pm.
