Men’s Tennis Falls to Alvernia, 8-1

Freshman Timothy Golden earned his second straight singles win on Saturday afternoon.

Center Valley, PA (April 18, 2009) - The DeSales University men's tennis team dropped its 11^th straight decision falling to Alvernia University, 8-1, in the final Freedom Conference match of the season for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs dropped all three doubles matches to fall behind 3-0 despite the efforts of freshman Timothy Golden (Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview) and sophomore Thomas Grace (Green Brook, NJ/Watchung Hills) who hung tough in a 9-7 loss at the No. 3 doubles position. DSU earned its lone point of the match when Golden won for the second straight match with a 6-2, 6-4 win.

The Bulldogs return to action on Monday, April 20^th when they travel to Baptist Bible College for a non-conference match beginning at 4:00 pm.
