Bulldogs Fall Short vs. Lycoming, 7-2

Freshman Timothy Golden earned a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles on Friday.

Center Valley, PA (April 17, 2009) - The DeSales University men's tennis team fought hard but eventually came up short, falling to Lycoming College, 7-2, in a non-conference game on a gorgeous Friday afternoon.

After taking one of three doubles matches, the Bulldogs earned another point, winning one of the six singles matches in the loss. Sophomore Joe Sulpizio (Bath, PA/Notre Dame) and junior Dan Bullen (Matawan, NJ/St. John Vianney) teamed to earn an 8-5 win at the No. 2 doubles spot and freshman Timothy Golden (Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview) also earned a win at the No. 6 singles spot, 6-2, 6-0.

DSU returns to action on Saturday when they finish up their Freedom Conference schedule with a home game vs. Alvernia University beginning at 1:00 pm.
