Men’s Tennis Ends Team Season with 7-2 Win over Baptist Bible

Freshman Tom Allen earned his fifth singles win of the season on Wednesday at Baptist Bible College.

LaPlume, PA (April 29, 2009) - The DeSales University men's tennis team concluded the team portion of its 2009 schedule with a 7-2 win over Baptist Bible College on Wednesday evening in a non-conference match.

The Bulldogs won two of three doubles matches and five of six singles matches in the win. In doubles, junior Dan Bullen (Matawan, NJ/St. John Vianney) teamed with sophomore Joe Sulpizio (Bath, PA/Notre Dame) to win 8-3 at the No. 2 spot and junior Seth Conklin (Valencia, PA/Aquinas Academy) and freshman Timothy Golden (Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview) combined to earn an 8-6 win at the No. 3 spot.

In singles play freshman Tom Allen (York, PA/York Catholic) was a 6-3, 6-2 winner at the No. 2 spot, Bullen was a 7-5, 6-2 winner at the No. 3 spot, Sulpizio was a 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-8) winner at the No. 4 spot, Conklin earned a 6-4, 6-4 winner at the No. 5 spot, and Golden made it two singles wins in a row with a 7-5, 3-6, 1-0 (10-0) win at the No. 6 spot.

DeSales concludes its season this weekend when they travel to the MASCAC Individual Championships beginning on Saturday.
