Women’s Soccer Blanked in Season Opener; 2-0 at Immaculata

Immaculata, PA, (September 1, 2009) – The DeSales University women's soccer team suffered a tough start to the 2009 season falling at Immaculata University, 2-0, in a non-conference game on Tuesday afternoon.

The Bulldogs fell behind early, allowing a goal just 2:01 into the game and were never able to fully recover. IU out-shot the Bulldogs, 14-4, while DeSales had a slim, 3-2, edge in corner kicks.

Senior Nicole Pietrobon (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) had the lone shot on goal and freshman Melissa Millili (Deptford, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) made six saves in between the pipes in the loss.

DeSales will look to rebound this weekend when it travels north to take on Simmons College on Saturday and Wheelock College on Sunday.
