Center Valley, PA (September 16, 2009) – Sophomore Amanda Fink (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) tied the school-record with three goals in a game leading the DeSales University women's soccer team past Albright College, 4-0, in a non-conference game on a brisk and drizzly Wednesday afternoon.

The Bulldogs improve to 2-4 with the win, while the Lions fall to 1-3-1 overall. DSU out-shot Albright, 17-8, and had a 5-3 edge in corner kicks. The win evens the all-time series between the two teams at four wins each, with DeSales winning each of the last four meetings, the last two by identical 4-0 scores.

DSU got on the board in the first half at 35:18 when senior Katie Halpin (Bethlehem, PA/Notre Dame) fired a shot just off the top of the Albright's keeper's hands and trickled into the net before she could grab it. The shot came off a pass from freshman Jordan DeMatto (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) from just inside the box.

The second half was all Fink. She netted her first marker just 2:03 into the half on an unassisted goal and added a second unassisted tally at the 50:42 mark of the second stanza. Fink earned the hat trick at the 60:49 mark when she took a crossing pass from freshman Christina Pietrobon (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) and fired it home. Sophomore Haley Vollmer (Hamburg, PA/Hamburg) also earned an assist starting the play with a nice feed to the corner to Pietrobon, who crossed the ball into the box to Fink.

Fink becomes the fourth player in school-history to score three goals in a game. Sophomore Melissa Millili (Deptford, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) made four saves to record her second shutout of the season in the win.

DeSales is back in action on Friday when they travel to Gwynedd-Mercy College for a non-conference game beginning at 7:00 pm.
