Gwynedd-Valley, PA (September 18, 2009) – The DeSales University women's soccer team got on the board first, scoring the lone first half goal but the Bulldogs were unable to make that stand falling to Gwynedd-Mercy College, 2-1, in a non-conference game on Friday evening.

Freshmen Regina Kessler (Whitehall, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) and Tori Kinek (Blandon, PA/Fleetwood) connected for the game's first goal at the 35:34 mark when Kessler headed home a crossing pass from Kinek.

The lead stood into halftime and thru the first five minutes of the second half before GMC (2-5 overall) got on the board with a tally at the 50:37 mark from Christine Michalski.

The Griffins wasted very little time in then taking the lead as Gwen Conte scored just over seven minutes later to un-tie the score with the eventual game-winner.

Gwynedd-Mercy out-shot DeSales (2-5 overall), 18-7 for the game and held a 7-4 advantage in corner kicks. Sophomore Melissa Millili (Deptford, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) made five saves in the loss.

The Bulldogs return to action on Sunday, September 20th when they travel to New York University for another non-conference game beginning at Noon. For those unable to attend the game on Sunday you can follow the progress online via LIVE Stats at the following link – CLICK HERE.
