Cain Earns Singles Win as Bulldogs Fall to Moravian, 8-1

Freshman Ariane Cain was the lone winner on Tuesday in the loss to Moravian.

Center Valley, PA (September 22, 2009) – The DeSales University women's tennis team was unable to win its second straight match, falling to local rival Moravian College, 8-1, in a non-conference match on Tuesday afternoon.

Freshman Ariane Cain (Reading, PA/Exeter Township) was the lone winner for the Bulldogs, earning a 6-0, 6-1 win over Alexandra Hay at the No. 4 spot. Junior Kate Steiner (Walnutport, PA/Northampton) played very well at the No. 1 spot, losing a tight match, 7-5, 7-6 (7-1). Junior Yllka Cana (Allentown, PA/William Allen) also played well losing in a third-set tie-break, 10-8.

DSU returns to action on Thursday when they get back into Freedom Conference action when they host King's College beginning at 3:30 pm.
