Field Hockey Drops Freedom Opener, 2-0, at Delaware Valley

Junior Kelsey Strowhouer had a team-high six shots on Saturday at Delaware Valley.

Doylestown, PA (September 26, 2009) – The DeSales University field hockey team began its Freedom Conference schedule on Saturday afternoon, falling at Delaware Valley College, 2-0.

The Bulldogs were out-shot 23-14, but had a 12-6 advantage on penalty corners. DVC (6-3, 1-0 Freedom) scored both its goals in the opening half to take a 2-0 lead and DSU (2-7, 0-1 Freedom) was never able to find the back of the cage.

Freshman Victoria DelToro (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) made 11 saves to keep DeSales in the game. The Bulldogs return to action on Tuesday, September 29^th when they host Arcadia University for a non-conference game beginning at 4:00 pm.
