Center Valley, PA (September 29, 2009) – The DeSales University women's soccer team scored early and often on Tuesday afternoon as the Bulldogs cruised past Lebanon Valley College, 4-0, in a non-conference game on a windy afternoon.

DSU took advantage of the wind at its backs in the first half, peppering the LVC goal for 11 shots, four of which went into the net and one other that bounced off the post. DeSales then very nearly scored just minutes into the second half when another shot hit off the crossbar and bounced straight down. The win is the second straight for DeSales who moves to 4-6 overall, while the Flying Dutchmen fall to 5-4-1 overall.

Junior Jena Meaney (Staten Island, NY/St. Joseph Hill Academy) got the scoring started in the opening half when she fired a shot off an over the top pass from sophomore Amanda Fink (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth). It was Meaney's third goal of the year.

Junior Amanda Ziegler (Aston, PA/Cardinal O'Hara) made it a two goal game just over seven minutes later when her header found the right corner of the net after Meaney pushed a pass to senior Emily LaDuke (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) who crossed the ball to Ziegler for the header.

Fink then got in the scoring act as she scored unassisted at the 29:00 minute mark, her fourth goal of the year, and LaDuke finished off the scoring with another unassisted tally just 1:56 later, her second marker of the season.

Sophomore Melissa Millili (Deptford, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) along with a strong defensive effort led by freshman sweeper Tori Kinek (Blandon, PA/Fleetwood) held the Flying Dutchmen scoreless for DSU's third shutout of the season. Millili made six saves in between the pipes.

DeSales will return to action on Saturday, October 3rd when they begin the important part of its schedule as they dive into Freedom Conference play with a home game vs. Delaware Valley College beginning at 3:30 pm.
