Steiner Wins Twice in 7-2 Loss at Neumann

Junior Kate Steiner was a double winner in the loss at Neumann on Friday.

Aston, PA (September 4, 2009) – Junior Kate Steiner (Walnutport, PA//Northampton) earned two wins on Friday evening but it was not enough as the DeSales University women's tennis team fell for the first time, 7-2, at Neumann College on Friday afternoon.

Steiner earned an easy 6-0, 6-1 win at the No. 1 singles spot over Ali DeTolla and teamed with sophomore Christine Petrilla (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert-Hamilton East) to record an 8-0 victory at the No. 1 doubles spot. Petrilla had a hard-luck loss at the No. 2 singles spot, winning the first set, 6-2, before dropping the second, 7-5, and falling in a pro-set tiebreak in the third, 11-9.

The Bulldogs will return to the court on Wednesday, September 9^th when they travel to Messiah College for another non-conference match beginning at 4:00 pm.
