Scranton, PA (October 18, 2010) – Senior Jamie Matthews (Gilbertsville, PA/Boyertown) scored her sixth goal of the season with just over three minutes remaining in regulation leading the DeSales University field hockey team past Marywood University, 1-0, on Monday evening.

The Bulldogs (7-8 overall) win their second straight, out-shooting the Pacers (3-10 overall), 17-0, for the game. Sophomore Victoria DelToro (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) had to make just one save to record her third shutout of the season.

Matthews' goal came off an assist from freshman Sam Lavin (Philipsburg, NJ/Philipsburg), who now has one goal and two assists in DSU's last two games.

DSU returns to action on Wednesday when they host Manhattanville College in another important Freedom Conference game beginning at 4:00 pm.
