Wilkes-Barre, PA (October 26, 2010) – The DeSales University field hockey team suffered a 4-0 loss at King's College in the Freedom Conference season finale on Tuesday evening in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
The Bulldogs (7-11, 1-6 Freedom) were out-shot, 16-5, and King's (13-3, 6-1 Freedom), held an 8-3 edge in penalty corners in the game.
After DeSales started strong with the first few shots of the game, King's took control in the 17th minute when
Calli Berryman scored her first of two goals to give the hosts a 1-0 lead. The lead grew to two goals by halftime and the Lady Monarchs added two more tallies in the second half to post the final margin.
Freshman
Nicole Schneider (East Lyme, CT/East Lyme) made seven saves in goal for the Bulldogs.
DSU concludes its season on Friday, October 29th when they travel to Richard Stockton College for a non-conference game beginning at 5:00 pm.
