Hunter/Moyer Lead Bulldogs past PSU-Berks, 92-77

Reading, PA (November 15, 2010) – Senior Brian Hunter (Allentown, PA/Emmaus) and sophomore Brett Moyer (Souderton, PA/Christopher Dock) each recorded career-highs leading the DeSales University men's basketball team past PSU-Berks, 92-77, in a non-conference game on Monday evening to open the 2010-11 season.

After DeSales (1-0 overall) started the game out strong, opening up a 17-7 lead thru the first nine minutes, PSU-Berks (0-1 overall) used a 21-3 run over a span of five minutes to take a 28-20 lead. The Bulldogs, however answered that spurt with a 14-2 run to end the half, taking a 39-34 lead into the locker room and never looked back in the second half leading by as many as 21 points before posting the final 15-point margin.

Hunter finished with a career-high 28 points on 11-of-15 shooting and added five rebounds and six assists. Moyer totaled 20 points on 7-of-9 shooting and pulled down a team-high seven boards and junior Bob Zanneo (Philadelphia, PA/Father Judge) finished with 11 points off the bench.

Sophomore Brian Kerwin (Basking Ridge, NJ/Immaculata) totaled six points and senior Tom Marshall (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Ryan) finished with six points in the win as 12 different players reached the scoring column for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs return to action on Friday, November 19th when they travel to Alvernia to take on PSU-Schuylkill in the opening round of the Alvernia University tip-off tournament beginning at 6:00 pm.
