Wilkes-Barre, PA (February 16, 2010) – Freshman Brett Moyer (Souderton, PA/Christopher Dock) totaled 14 points leading a 31-point effort from the bench helping head coach Scott Coval win his 300th career game as the DeSales University men's basketball team defeated Wilkes University, 75-64, in Freedom Conference action on Tuesday night at the Marts Center.

The Bulldogs are now 19-5 overall and 12-1 in the Freedom Conference, while the Colonels fall to 13-10 overall and 4-8 in the Freedom standings. DSU shot 43.3 percent in the win and committed just nine turnovers, while converting 15-of-17 (88.2 percent) from the free throw line.

DSU jumped out to a 10-4 lead as junior Brian Hunter (Allentown, PA/Emmaus) and senior Matt Zwetolitz (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) each hit three-pointers to start the game. With the score tied at 26, the Bulldogs used a 10-4 run over the final five minutes of the half to take a six-point lead into the locker room. Senior Rob Schubach (Center Valley, PA/Southern Lehigh) and Hunter each hit treys during the end of the half spurt.

In the second half, DSU pushed its lead to 10 points early in the half on lay-ups from sophomore Jamey Bercier (Stroudsburg, PA/Notre Dame) and senior Darnell Braswell (Allentown, PA/William Allen). The lead grew to as many as 18 points (66-48) at the 7:03 mark before Wilkes got within nine points at the two minute mark, but Braswell canned a three-pointer to push the lead to 12 points on DSU's next possession to ice the game.

Braswell finished with a game-high 23 points, 21 of which came in the second half, and pulled down 11 rebounds to record his seventh double-double of the season. He enters Saturday's game vs. FDU-Florham needing just 16 points to break Jason Moyer's all-time scoring record of 1,630 career points.

Moyer led the charge off the bench with 14 points and also pulled down seven boards. Hunter finished with six points and a game-high six assists, while sophomore Bob Zanneo (Philadelphia, PA/Father Judge) added seven points off the bench.
