Wilkes-Barre, PA (February 16, 2010) – Four players reached double figures and the DeSales University women's basketball team forced 33 Wilkes University turnovers leading to a 76-42 win over the Colonels for the Bulldogs ninth straight win in Freedom Conference action on Tuesday at the Marts Center.

A close game early saw Wilkes (3-19, 1-10 Freedom) leading 16-13 at the 8:32 mark before the Bulldogs (15-9, 10-3 Freedom) broke the game open with a 24-2 run to end the half, taking a 37-18 lead into the locker room. Seven different players scored including senior Kelly Magrann (Sinking Spring, PA/Holy Name) who totaled a team-high six points during the spurt. The Bulldogs forced 19 first-half Colonel turnovers and held Wilkes to just 19.4 percent shooting for the game.

The second half was all DeSales as the lead never fell lower than 20 points and peaked at 35 tallies before the final margin was posted. DSU finished the game shooting 42.6 percent and held Wilkes to just 24.6 percent shooting.

Leading the scoring attack was junior Lori Lidlow (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) with a game-high 13 points and a career-high eight assists to go along with five steals. Sophomore Cherelle Simmons (Lancaster, PA/JP McCaskey) recorded her third double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Magrann and freshman Colleen Gavin (Quakertown, PA/Quakertown) totaled 10 points.

Sophomore Hannah Smith (New Cumberland, PA/Cedar Cliff) finished with eight points, junior Megan Montchyk (Bellmawr, NJ/Paul VI) led the charge off the bench with eight points, and senior Kaila Wiand (Royersford, PA/Spring-Ford) and freshman Jessica Hoover (Emmaus, PA/Emmaus) each added six points in the win.

Megan Kazmerski led the Colonels with 12 points and Angelo Palmerio added 10 points off the bench. Brittany Ely pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds.

The Bulldogs conclude its regular season schedule on Saturday, February 20th when they host FDU-Florham on senior day in Billera Hall beginning at 1:00 pm. For those unable to attend you can follow the game online via LIVE Stats or LIVE Audio.
