Center Valley, PA (April 12, 2010) – The DeSales University men's tennis team was just one match short of winning its first match of the season, falling to Baptist Bible College, 5-4, in a non-conference match on Monday afternoon.
The Bulldogs (0-8 overall) took a 2-1 lead after the doubles matches but were only able to win 2-of-4 singles matches in the loss. In doubles action senior Dan Bullen (Matawan, NJ/St. John Vianney) teamed with senior Colin Pomer (Lyndeborough, NH/Wilton-Lyndeborough Cooperative) to win 8-5 at the No. 1 spot and junior Joe Sulpizio (Bath, PA/Notre Dame) teamed with freshman Adam Dorn (East Stroudsburg, PA/East Stroudsburg South) to win, 8-4, at the No. 3 spot.
Both Sulpizio and Dorn also win in singles play with Sulpizio taking the No. 5 singles match, 6-1, 6-1, and Dorn winning 7-5, 6-2 at the No. 6 flight.
The Bulldogs will return to action on Wednesday when they host Eastern University in a Freedom Conference match beginning at 3:30 pm.
