Bulldogs Blast Lebanon Valley, 18-2; Walker Scores Six Goals

Senior Kevin Walker won 17-of-19 face-offs and had eight points in the win over Lebanon Valley.

Center Valley, PA (April 17, 2010) – Senior Kevin Walker (Wilmington, DE/Salesianum) scored six goals, added two assists, won 17-of-19 face-offs, and picked up 15 ground balls leading the DeSales University men's lacrosse team to a convincing 18-2 win over Lebanon Valley College on Saturday afternoon snapping the Bulldogs' three-game losing streak.

DSU (4-8, 3-4 MAC) controlled the entire game out-shooting LVC (2-9, 0-7 MAC), 55-17, holding a 46-20 advantage in ground balls, and winning 19-of-23 face-offs. The Bulldogs led 10-1 at halftime and never looked back in the second half.

Nine different players registered a point in the win including Walker with his team-leading eight points. Junior Whit Bruemmer (Holland, PA/Council Rock South) also had eight points with four goals and four assists and sophomore Michael Bassani (Califon, NJ/Voorhees) added two goals and two assists for four points.

Sophomore Tony Fabrizio (Hellertown, PA/Easton) added three goals off the bench and freshman Billy Marsh (Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central), freshman James Guerrier (Floral Park, NY/Kellenberg Memorial), and senior Jarryd Stamatelos (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) each scored once. Junior Jon Devine (Philadelphia, PA/North Catholic) and freshman Robert Stamatelos (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) each had assists in the win.

Sophomore Brendan Guerrier (Floral Park, NY/Chaminade) had six ground balls and junior Justin Campanelli (Langhorne, PA/Neshaminy) and freshman Jacob Nyenhuis (Ada, MI/Forest Hills Eastern) combined to make six saves in between the pipes.

DeSales returns to action on Wednesday, April 21st when they travel to Lycoming College for a very important MAC Conference game beginning at 4:00 pm.
