Reading, PA (April 20, 2010) – The DeSales University men's tennis team got itself in the win column on Tuesday afternoon, traveling to Albright College and coming away with a 6-3 win over the Lions in a non-conference match for the Bulldogs first victory of the season.
Four different players recorded double wins including junior #Anthony Guerriero# (Warren, NJ/Watchung Hills) who won at the No. 3 singles position (6-1, 6-3) and teamed with junior #Thomas Grace# (Green Brook, NJ/Watchung Hills) to win 8-1 at the No. 2 doubles spot.
Junior #Joe Sulpizio# (Bath, PA/Notre Dame) and freshman #Robert Felty# (Tamaqua, PA/Tamaqua) each won two matches teaming at the No. 3 doubles spot to win 8-3, while Sulpizio was a 6-0, 6-2 winner at the No. 4 singles spot and Felty was a 6-1, 6-2 winner at the No. 6 singles spot.
The other Bulldog winner was senior #Colin Pomer# (Lyndeborough, NH/Wilton-Lyndeborough Cooperative), who earned a singles victory at the No. 5 flight, 6-3, 6-2. DeSales returns to action on Wednesday for its third match in as many days when they host Manhattanville College in a Freedom Conference match beginning at 3:30 pm.
