Newark, NJ (April 7, 2010) – Sophomore Jack Kavetski (Plymouth Meeting, PA/Plymouth Whitemarsh) hit his second home run in as many days as the DeSales University baseball team saw its bats go silent one day after pounding out 21 hits in a 10-3 loss at Rutgers-Newark in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon. 
The Bulldogs (13-9 overall) had just three hits in this afternoon's contest, while Newark (8-13 overall) had 11 hits and scored all 10 of its runs over the third-thru-fifth innings including a six-run inning in the third frame. 
Kavetski hit his second homer of the season in the fourth inning, a two-run shot and he drove in all three Bulldog runs in the loss. Freshman Carlos Guerrero (Brooklyn, NY/James Madison) took the loss, lasting just 2.1 innings allowing six runs. 
Senior Mark Reilly (Cream Ridge, NJ/Notre Dame), freshman Colby Pacillo (Lebanon, NJ/Immaculata), and senior Joe Walsh (Green Brook, NJ/Watchung Hills) pitched a scoreless sixth, seventh, and eighth inning, striking out seven. 
The Bulldogs return to action on Friday when they get back into Freedom Conference play, hosting Eastern University at Butz Field beginning at 3:30 pm.
