Center Valley, PA (September 25, 2010) – The DeSales University women's soccer team lost for the first time at home all season, falling to Arcadia University, 4-1, after allowing all four goals in the opening twenty minutes in non-conference action on homecoming Saturday at DeSales.

After a scoreless first 21 minutes, AU scored three goals in a span of 3:14 to take a 3-0 lead and scored one more just 1:10 before the half to open up a 4-0 lead and never looked back. AU only had an 11-8 edge in shots and enjoyed a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks.

The Bulldogs got on the board at the 72:52 mark when senior Amanda Ziegler (Aston, PA/Cardinal O'Hara) volleyed in a header pass from junior Laura Wroge (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) off a corner kick feed from junior Haley Vollmer (Hamburg, PA/Hamburg). Freshman Jen Schmidt (Croydon, PA/Nazareth) played well in the second half making one save and not allowing a goal in between the pipes.
