Misericordia Blanks Bulldogs, 7-0, in Women’s Soccer

Dallas, PA (October 18, 2011) – The DeSales University women's soccer team suffered its fourth straight defeat as Misericordia University blanked the Bulldogs, 7-0, in Freedom Conference action on Tuesday evening under the lights at Mangelsdorf Field.

The Bulldogs fall to 2-12-1 overall and 0-5 in the Freedom Conference with the loss, while the Cougars improve to 9-3-2 overall and 4-0-1 in the Freedom.

Misercordia broke the game open early scoring six goals in the first half, including the first three within a span of 1:19.  For the game the Cougars out-shot DeSales, 13-9, and held a 6-1 edge in corner kicks.  Freshman Michelle Churchman made the lone save for DSU in net.  Junior Christina Pietrobon had three of DSU's nine shots.

The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday when they travel to King's College for a Freedom Conference game beginning at 4:30 pm.
