Wilkes-Barre, PA (October 22, 2011) – The DeSales University women's soccer team struck early and often, scoring twice in the first 15 minutes and three times in the first half en route to a 3-1 win over King's College in Freedom Conference action on Saturday evening.

The Bulldogs (3-12-1, 1-5 Freedom) out-shot King's (3-13, 0-6 Freedom) 10-8, while each team had one corner kick.

Junior Christina Pietrobon got DSU on the scoreboard just 2:03 into the game, scoring her first goal of the season off a feed from fellow junior Alyssa deQuintal.  Senior Haley Vollmer made it 2-0 at the 14:45 mark, scoring on a free kick from 25 yards out and senior Amanda Fink made it 3-0 just under 10 minutes later, chipping a ball over the keeper after a pass from freshman Alyssa Borgesi.

King's got on the board with 17 minutes left to play but was unable to get any closer as junior Alex Bastinelli made five saves in between the pipes for the Bulldogs.  The win is #45 for head coach Mary Guarino who moves into a tie with Dave Yob for the all-time lead.  It is also the 100th win in DeSales women's soccer history which started in the fall of 1996.

DSU returns to action on Tuesday evening when they travel to Immaculata University for a non-conference game beginning at 7:00 pm.
