Reading, PA (December 20, 2011) – Sophomore Sondrine Glovas scored a game-high 24 points in just 24 minutes of action leading the DeSales University women's basketball team to a 68-55 win over Albright College in a non-conference affair on Tuesday evening in the Bollman Center.

Glovas shot 9-for-16 from the field and also pulled down five boards.  Junior Colleen Gavin also reached double digits with 10 points, including eight during a first-half run, and senior Cherelle Simmons added nine points.

Freshman Alex Suk came off the bench to tally eight points and 10 rebounds, while junior Taylor Greene and sophomore Faith Gilbert each totaled five assists in the win.

Albright got 11 points from Tara Sabotchik, 10 points from Jessica Venturelli and eight points and 10 rebounds from Jenny Knoebel in the loss.

DeSales (5-4) trailed 14-12 at the nine minute mark of the first half before using a 15-3 run over the next five minutes to open up a 10-point lead (27-17) with just under three minutes left to play.  Gavin scored the last eight points of the run and Simmons added five tallies during that stretch as the Bulldogs took an eight point lead into the locker room, 33-25.

Albright (3-8) was the aggressor to start the second half scoring the first nine points to take a 34-33 lead but after a DSU timeout, Gilbert hit a three, to reclaim the advantage and DeSales used an 18-5 run over a nine-minute stretch to put the game out of reach.  Glovas led charge with nine points as five different players scored during the clinching run.

The Bulldogs took excellent care of the ball, committing just 10 turnovers and dishing out 15 assists on 25 made baskets.  DSU also forced 22 Lion turnovers and held AC to just 34.5 percent shooting for the game.

The Bulldogs return to action two days after Christmas when they take on Carthage College in the first game of a tournament in Las Vegas, NV beginning at 3:00 pm local time in Las Vegas.
