Men’s Lacrosse Falls at Lebanon Valley, 7-4

Annville, PA (April 3, 2011) – The DeSales University men's lacrosse team was unable to get anything going on the offensive end, falling to Lebanon Valley College, 7-4, in an MAC Conference game on Saturday afternoon in Annville, PA.

The Flying Dutchmen (3-5, 2-2 MAC) out-shot DeSales (1-6, 1-2 MAC), 39-20, and held a slim, 32-26, edge in ground balls in the win. LVC opened up a 3-0 lead in the first quarter and both team scored twice in the second and third quarters before a scoreless fourth period provided the final margin.

Sophomore Brennan Gmeiner continued his strong play on face-offs, winning 10-of-14 and picking up five ground balls, pushing his face-off percentage up to .619 on the year. Senior Justin Campanelli also played well in goal, stopping 18 shots, and allowing just seven goals in the loss. He now has a .609 save percentage and 103 saves on the season.

Four different players scored goals including freshman Bruce Peditto, sophomore Alex Koch, sophomore Jarrod Wideow, and sophomore James Guerrier. Peditto and freshman James Moloney each had assists in the loss. Junior Brendan Guerrier and senior Donald Clemens each had five ground balls, and Guerrier forced three turnovers for the Bulldogs.

DeSales returns to action on Wednesday, April 6th when they host Messiah College in another MAC Conference game beginning at 4:00 pm.
