Nate Newman pitched a six-hitter ending the Bulldogs season with a 5-0 Cougar win in the Freedom Conference playoffs on Sunday afternoon.
The Bulldogs finish the year with a 20-18 overall mark, the 12th straight 20+ win season and the 17th in the last 18 years under head coach
Tim Neiman. Misericordia moves onto the Freedom Conference championship game where it will need to defeat FDU-Florham twice in order to take home the Freedom Conference title.
Misericordia got on the board in the bottom of the third when three straight singles scored the Cougars' first run and then in the fourth Newman did some damage with his bat hitting a three-run home run to right-field after the first two runners had reached via Bulldog errors. MU added its final run in the fifth with two, two-out hits to provide the final 5-0 margin.
Moser finished 2-for-2 at the plate, reaching base all three times he came to the plate and Mauro continued his hot hitting with two hits. Senior

Chris Zucchi also had base hits in the loss.
Senior
Jeffrey Pinto took the loss allowing five hits and four runs (two earned) over 3.2 innings pitched, striking out three. Junior
Travis Hughes pitched well allowing just one run over 3.1 innings pitched and senior
Alex Brown finished his career with a scoreless eighth inning in the loss.
