BOX SCORE

Bethlehem, PA (September 1, 2011) – The trends continued in the annual field hockey game between DeSales University  and Moravian College as the Greyhounds earned a 1-0 victory on its home field meaning the home team has now won all eight career meetings between the two squads.

After a scoreless first half that saw the Bulldogs out-shot the Hounds, 5-1, MC took control of play in the second half, out-shooting DSU, 7-3, and scoring the lone goal at the 42:18 mark from Tori Poliskiewicz, an unassisted tally from the left side of the circle.

DeSales defense and junior goaltender Victoria Del Toro played well in the loss as Del Toro made five saves.  Shots finished even at eight each, while the Greyhounds owned a 6-3 advantage in penalty corners with all six coming in the second half.

The Bulldogs will return to action on Tuesday when they return to the road, traveling to Gwynedd-Mercy College for a non-conference game beginning at 4:30 pm.
