Center Valley, PA (September 11, 2011) – Two first half goals was the difference as the DeSales University women's soccer team dropped its 2011 home opener, 2-0, to Cabrini College in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon.

The Bulldogs (1-3 overall) had their chances, out-shooting Cabrini (1-0-1 overall), 14-10, but missed several point blank chances in the first half and also hit the cross bar on another shot by junior Christina Pietrobon midway thru the first half.

Cabrini took advantage scoring the eventual game-winner at the 26:25 mark when Gabby Meck's crossing pace sailed over the head of DSU keeper, Melissa Millili, and into the corner of the net.  Just less than five minutes later the Cavaliers took advantage again as Millili was caught outside the box as Devon Miller put back a loose ball into a wide open net from about 25 yards out.

The Bulldogs did play the majority of the game without two of its top three scorers as sophomore Brady Walsh missed the game with an injury and junior Stephanie Barnett left the game early in the opening half with an injury and did not return.

Junior Alex Bastinelli was a bright spot playing very well in goal in the second half making three saves.

The Bulldogs return to action on Wednesday evening when they travel to Neumann University for a non-conference game beginning at 7:00 pm.
