Grantham, PA (January 7, 2012) – Messiah College used a 22-6 first-half run extending a one-point lead into 17 points and never looked back in a 74-56 win over the DeSales University women's basketball team on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.

Sophomore Sondrine Glovas led the way with a team-high 15 points and freshman Alex Suk had a strong game off the bench with 14 points and nine rebounds.  Sophomore Megan Gallagher also played well with seven points, five rebounds, and four steals off the bench.

Messiah saw four players reach double figures including Taylor Miller with 18 points, Dori Gyori with 17 points and 12 rebounds, Katlyn Vanderhoff with 16 points, and Nicky Hess with 10 points and five assists.

After a Glovas three-pointer at the 15:05 mark of the first half DeSales trialed 10-9, but a 22-6 run by the Falcons (10-3) over the next 10 minutes gave the hosts a 32-15 lead and Messiah took a 15 point advantage into the locker room (37-22).  Messiah kept control in the second-half scoring the first 10 points to lead 47-22 before posting the final 18-point margin.

Messiah shot 51 percent from the field in the win and hit 6-of-12 from three-point land.  The Bulldogs (7-6) did a nice job of forcing turnovers as the Falcons committed 29 turnovers, but DSU scored just 10 points off those miscues.

Today's game was the last non-conference game of the season for the Bulldogs as they will look to bounce back on Wednesday, January 11th when they host King's College in a Freedom Conference game beginning at 6:00 pm.
