Bulldogs Blitzed in 9-2 Loss to #23 Misericordia

Center Valley, PA (October 13, 2012) – #23 Misericordia University scored six times in the first half and opened up an 8-0 lead thru the first 80+ minutes before the DeSales University women's soccer team got two goals late in the second half in a 9-2 loss to the nationally ranked Cougars.

MU wasted no time taking the lead, scoring just 1:53 into the game and added goals in the 12th, 16th, 28th, 35th, and 39th minutes of the first half.  The Cougars scored 10 minutes into the second half and led 8-0 in the 59th minute before DeSales was able to break thru when junior Ashley Koren scored off an assist from sophomore Alyssa Brandt.

Sophomore Megan Strauser rounded out the Bulldogs scoring with 1:38 left to play with her eighth goal of the season off assists from junior Melissa Pugliese and sophomore Alyssa Borgesi.

DSU will return to action on Tuesday afternoon when they host Manhattanville College in another Freedom Conference game beginning at 3:00 pm.
