Center Valley, PA (February 11, 2012) – The DeSales University women's basketball scored 21 straight points after falling behind 4-0 and never looked back from there, rolling past FDU-Florham, 75-62, to clinch its 15th straight Freedom Conference playoff berth on senior day Saturday afternoon in Billera Hall.

The four-time defending Freedom Conference champion Bulldogs (13-10, 8-4 Freedom) will get a chance to make it five straight now as they earn its 15th straight Freedom Conference playoff berth, having never missed the Freedom post-season after joining the Conference 15 years ago.  The Bulldogs are currently tied with Eastern University for the third seed and one game behind Misericordia University for the second spot with two games left in the regular season this week.

On Saturday, the Devils (11-12, 5-7 Freedom) scored the first four points of the game, but then it was all DeSales as the Bulldogs scored 21 straight points to take a 17-point lead at the 7:48 mark and cruised into the halftime locker room with a 14-point edge (29-15).

DSU forced FDU into 18.2 percent shooting in the opening 20 minutes and took good care of the ball committing just 11 turnovers against the full-court pressure from the Devils.

The lead swelled to as many as 24 points in the second half and never got below double digits despite FDU re-grouping to shoot 50.0 percent from the field in the second and score 47 points.  The Bulldogs kept pace scoring 46 points of their own and shooting 48.3 percent from the field over the final 20 minutes.

Four players reached double digits for DeSales including sophomore Sondrine Glovas with a game-high 22 points and 11 rebounds, recording her second double-double of the season, both of which came vs. FDU-Florham.  Junior Colleen Gavin added a season-high 20 points, senior Cherelle Simmons had 11 points and eight rebounds, and sophomore Alexiah Grant finished with 12 points.

Senior Hannah Smith also played well with a team-high six assists and freshman Alex Suk came off the bench to score eight points and nine rebounds.

Freshman Leigh-Ann Lively led the Devils off the bench with 18 points and fellow freshman Kyra Dayon recorded a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

The Bulldogs return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Wilkes University for the first of two important Freedom Conference games as DeSales looks to earn a first-round home game and the #2 seed in the upcoming Freedom Conference playoffs.  Tip for Tuesday is at 6:00 pm.
