Hughes gave up just three runs (all unearned) and five hits over six innings, while striking out seven and not walking a batter to earn his first win over the season and lowering his ERA to 1.15 on the season.  DSU trailed 3-0 entering the bottom of the second but scored once in the second and four more times in the third to lead 5-3 and never looked back from there.

Junior Brian Mauro went 3-for-4 with four runs scored and senior Ethan Moser continued to be red hot at the dish, going 2-for-3 with four runs scored and four RBIs including a double and a triple.  Junior Derek Chrismer was 3-for-5 with two RBIs and senior Jason Hadinger came out of a slump to record two base hits in four AB's.  Senior Kenny Ridge also scored twice.

Trailing 3-1 entering the bottom of the third, Moser laced a bases loaded double scoring two runs to tie the game, while Chrismer and Hadinger both had RBI singles later in the inning.  Moser had an RBI triple in the fourth inning and the Bulldogs scored twice more in the sixth and eighth innings to provide the final tally.

Freshman Tyler Harris was also impressive, tossing one inning of shutout relief, striking out two.

The Bulldogs will put its four-game winning streak on the line on Sunday when they begin Freedom Conference play with a doubleheader vs. FDU-Florham in an important early season game for both teams.  First pitch in game one is set for Noon at Butz Field.
