Box Score
Madison, NJ (March 19, 2012) – FDU-Florham scored three runs in the sixth inning and five more in the seventh to break open a close game and earn a 10-4 win in the final game of a three-game set with the Bulldogs on Monday afternoon.

DeSales (7-5, 2-1 Freedom) still earns the series win, taking both ends of a doubleheader on Sunday at Butz Field but sees its win streak snapped at six straight with the loss.  FDU-Florham improves to 4-8 overall and 1-2 in the Freedom.

DSU took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on an RBI single from senior Ethan Moser plating junior Brian Mauro, who had also singled in the inning.  The Devils struck back in the bottom of the third inning with two runs to take a 2-1 advantage.

It remained a 2-1 game entering the sixth inning when the Bulldogs drew three walks to load the bases with one out in the sixth.  A balk plated the first run and a two-RBI single off the bat off freshman Drew Borger put DSU back on top, 4-2.

FDU had the answer though, plating three runs in the bottom of the inning on four straight hits to start the frame to take a 5-4 lead and broke the contest open in the bottom of the seventh inning with five runs on three Devil hits and three Bulldog errors.

DSU had just four hits in the game but did draw eight walks in the game.  Senior Travis Hughes took the loss, pitching well thru five innings before getting into trouble to start the sixth inning.  He allowed 10 hits and five runs, striking out six without a walk.

The Bulldogs return to action on Wednesday when they host Neumann University in a non-conference game beginning at 3:30 pm.
