DSU Drops First Spring Break Trip Game to Wittenberg, 9-3

Clearwater, FL (March 7, 2012) – The DeSales University men's lacrosse team fought hard but dropped its first game of the season, falling to Wittenberg Univerrsity, 9-3, in the first of two games on the Bulldogs spring trip to Clearwater, FL this week on Wednesday evening.

DSU was down just one goal (2-1) at the end of the first quarter but were out-scored 6-0 in the second and third quarters as WU pulled away for the win.

Goal scorers for the Bulldogs (1-1) were freshman Lance Bracale, freshman Nate Blevins, and sophomore Evan Burns.  Junior Josh Martin, Burns, and freshman Ryan Rowse each had an assist.

Senior Brendan Guerrier, junior Brennan Gmeiner, and Bracale each had three ground balls to lead the way, while Gmeiner won 10-of-13 face-offs and freshman Jake Ross made 13 saves in goal for the Bulldogs.

DSU takes on Clark University in its second game of the trip on Friday evening.
