Dallas, PA (April 17, 2012) – Misericordia University erased a one-goal deficit entering the fourth quarter with three goals, including the game-winner with 2:36 left, lifting the Cougars past the DeSales University men's lacrosse team, 8-7, in a Freedom Conference game on Tuesday evening.

DeSales (6-6, 0-2 Freedom) dominated the stat sheet, out-shooting Misericordia (11-1, 2-0 Freedom), 35-33, picking up four more ground balls than the Cougars, and winning 16-of-19 face-offs, but 18 turnovers and five failed clears contributed to a one-goal loss on the road.

Freshman Lance Bracale and Ryan Rowse each scored twice, while sophomore Evan Burns, junior Josh Martin, and freshman Nate Blevins rounded out the goal scorers.  Martin had two assists and Rowse tallied one assist to round out the scoring leaders.

Junior Brennan Gmeiner was outstanding once again on the face-off, winning all but three face-offs to increase his season percentage to .688.  Gmeiner also picked up five ground balls.  Senior Brendan Guerrier had five more ground balls, leaving him nine shy of breaking the all-time record, and freshman Jake Ross made eight saves in the loss.

The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday, returning home, to face King's College in a very important Freedom Conference game beginning at 1:00 pm.
