Center Valley, PA (April 20, 2012) – Senior Ethan Moser went 3-for-4 with six RBIs and was just a triple shy of the cycle and junior Colby Pacillo fired his first complete-game of the season, striking out eight, to lead the DeSales University baseball team past Wilkes University, 9-2, in the first game of a three-game set this weekend with the Colonels.

The Bulldogs scored in four of the first five innings to open up an 8-1 lead and never looked back from there.  Moser had an RBI single in the first inning, a two-RBI double in the second inning, a two-run home run in the fourth inning, and a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning, knocking in six of DSU's first eight runs.

Pacillo was sharp all afternoon, working out of a bases loaded jam in the second inning only to retire 10 straight hitters to finish the second all the way thru the fifth inning as the Bulldogs built their lead.  Pacillo walked just one, scattering eight hits over nine innings, allowing two runs, and striking out eight.

In addition to Moser, junior Brian Mauro also had three hits and knocked in one run.  Freshman Drew Borger and senior Nick Chiovitti each scored three times and junior Justin Scerbo had two hits in the win.

The Bulldogs return to action tomorrow for games two and three with the Colonels at Artillery Park with the start time for the first game moved up one hour to 12:00 pm.
