Center Valley, PA (April 21, 2012) – The DeSales University men's lacrosse team led 7-2 after an early third quarter goal but just couldn't hang on late, falling to King's College, 10-9, in overtime, dropping its fourth straight game on another nice day Saturday afternoon.

Turnovers was the Bulldogs (6-7, 0-3 Freedom) demise on Saturday as they committed 30 for the game including 19 in the first and fourth quarters allowing King's to complete its comeback with the first three goals of the fourth quarter before DSU tied the game with 2:15 left on a man-up goal by freshman Ryan Rowse.

In the overtime period, DeSales won the opening face-off and had a shot on goal, but it was saved and the Monarchs' (6-6, 2-1 Freedom) Pat Bonnot beat his defender one-on-one to the left, shooting uncontested past the DSU keeper to win the game 1:49 into the overtime period.

DeSales was out-shot, 35-18, for the game, but freshman Jake Ross was fantastic in net, making 12 saves as compared to just four his counterpart.  DSU held a 35-32 edge in ground balls and junior Brennan Gmeiner won 14-of-23 face-offs, while also picking up nine ground balls.

Rowse finished with four goals and two assists for six points, while junior Ben Krocheski had three goals and an assist for four points in the loss.  Sophomore Evan Burns and senior Brendan Guerrier each tallied goals, while Burns, freshman Nate Blevins, and junior Josh Martin had assists, with Martin tallying two helpers.  Guerrier also had five ground balls and now needs just four to break the all-time record currently set at 358.

The Bulldogs are still just two wins shy of breaking the all-time record for wins in a season (8) and have two games left on its 2012 regular season schedule.  DSU returns home on Wednesday, April 25th for its next game, hosting Manhattanville College for another Freedom Conference game beginning at 4:00 pm.
